For the second week of this fall’s football contest, there were 16 games to choose from. Tim Wiseman picked 11 of those 16 games correctly, missing five. Following Wiseman in week two’s contest were contestants Alice Hicks and Beverly Hicks, who each made nine correct picks.

Wiseman barely missed the tie-break question, guessing that the most points scored by any contest team last week would be 56. The record high of 58 came in the Haywood win over Oakhaven, where Haywood triumphed with a score of 58-6.

Check out the week three football contest on page 2B of this week’s paper. For the first time, some college games are in the mix. Remember, any cancelled games are counted as correct answers.

Try your skills at prediction, pick your 16 winners for next week, and win that check for $25. Be sure to get your completed form to the Chronicle office by Friday at 5 p.m.
