Lady Lions find success in Jackson

The Camden Lady Lions softball team are off to a strong start this season with wins in early games. They enjoyed a fruitful weekend in Jackson, picking up three wins, a tie, and a loss at the Sarah Beth Whitehead Classic. The Lady Lions improved their overall record to 4-2-1.

The Lady Lions’ weekend began with a 10-3 victory over TCA, followed by a scoreless tie against Crockett County. Camden won its next two games, defeating Fayette Academy 5-1 and Unity, Ill., 6-4. Their tournament run came to an end in the semifinals on Saturday with a 2-0 loss to Huntingdon.

The Lady Lions are back in action this week as they travelled to Huntingdon on Tuesday for a 5 p.m. first pitch (outcome not known at press time). They will travel to East Hickman on Thursday with the first pitch scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
