The students of Learn-a-Lot Play School celebrated Read Across America Day last week with many visitors stopping by to share their love of reading.
Because of the beautiful weather, they were even able to enjoy listening to many books outside.
Andrew Jones with the Benton County Electric System came to read “The Electric Field Trip’ with Mrs. Frizzle and taught the students about electricity. It was especially fun for student Baker Jones to hear his dad read to the whole class. Betty Jordan with Benton County Schools came to read to the students and passed out books to everyone from the WOW van, also known as the “Words on Wheels” van. Student Rathe Miller was so happy to see his grandmother Betty and help her show off the van. The students were thrilled to get to tour the WOW van and each child got to go home with his or her own book!
Read Across America Day gave Learn-a-Lot students more reasons than ever to agree with their friend Dr. Seuss, “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go!”
