The 2022 WRAP Jam is set for Saturday, Oct. 1, from 4-10 p.m. on the Camden Court Square. The event, which is held to bring awareness to domestic violence, is sponsored by WRAP (Women’s Resource Assistance Program), the Tennessee River Resort District, the Benton County Drug Alliance, and the Benton County Prevention Coalition.

The event is supposed to be fun and a time of celebration for those who have overcome and survived domestic violence, but it also will be a time of reflection and remembrance for those who did not survive. Attendees are encouraged to wear purple in honor of those who are dealing with domestic violence or have lost their lives at the hands of violent partners.

A memorial walk will be held, with various advocates and survivors speaking in regard to the chronic problem of domestic violence. Join in by recognizing the courage and strength it takes to survive in violent relationships.

WRAP Jam will be a family-friendly event, with a petting zoo and various activities for kids. Food vendors also will be there, with RJ’s Ice Cream giving away free scoops to the first 100 people. The event will feature several musical acts, including Levon, the Scotty Morton Band, Lucas Roberson, and Haley Flowers.

The Punishers motorcycle club will be “Riding for Awareness” prior to the event. They’re meeting at the Walmart parking lot in Camden at 1 p.m., with kickstands up at 2 p.m. There is no fee to join the ride, but donations for WRAP will be accepted.

Come on out and join the fun! Bring a lawn chair, meet at the Camden Court Square, and join the WRAP Jam on Saturday. Enjoy music, food, fellowship, and take a moment to remember those who are struggling with domestic violence.
