Woman dies in crash on Hwy. 641

A Hohenwald woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday night, Feb. 14, on Hwy. 641 South in Benton County. The Tennessee Highway Patrol worked the accident.

According to the THP accident report, Hannah Joy Anthony, 36, was driving her 2008 Nissan Altima south on Hwy. 641 at approximately 8:30 p.m. when she collided in the roadway with a 2017 Freightliner tractor trailer driven by Ashona Knight, 38, of Florida. Anthony was killed in the crash.

Riding with Anthony on Tuesday evening was her four-month-old daughter Nova Rae Smothers. Fortunately, the infant was not injured as she was secured in a car seat in the back of the car, according to the accident report. 

The driver of the tractor trailer also was not injured. According to the THP report, all adults were wearing seatbelts, and no charges arose from the accident.
