Wow, it’s already December! It seems to me that 2018 has just flown by us. But you know what they say, “Time flies when you’re having fun!”
Now it’s time for Christmas! Christmas cookies, movies, and time spent in front of the fireplace with beloved family and friends. I couldn’t imagine spending Christmas anywhere other than right here in Benton County. For those of you who are last minute shoppers like me, remember to shop local this holiday season! Benton County has so many things to offer – I’ll bet you can find the perfect gift for anyone right here at home!
Upcoming Events
Mother Nature, please don’t rain on our parade! The Christmas Parade will be held on Saturday, Dec. 8, starting at 3 p.m. This year’s Grand Marshal is Marcus Bond, and he is so excited to greet all of his Benton County friends!
If you would like to enter the parade, call the Chamber office at 584-8395 to register. This year’s parade theme is “Christmas Stories”, so decorate your entry according to your favorite Christmas story! Line up at Carhartt will begin at 1 p.m. If you would like your entry to be judged, you must be in line and assembled by 2 p.m. The categories to be judged are float, vehicle, horse, tractor, and miscellaneous. And of course, there will be one Grand Champion!
Rain Date: If it rains on Saturday, Dec. 8, we will move the parade to Sunday, Dec. 9, at 3 p.m. Stay tuned to our Facebook page as we will send out the update there and notify the radio station. Unless it is raining, the parade will be held Saturday.
You are invited! Join us on Monday, Dec. 10, from 10:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. here at the Benton County/Camden Chamber of Commerce for our Christmas Open House! This is open to anyone who would like to come. Stop by and enjoy some delicious food, and sit and talk with us. This is our way of saying thank you to the community and our Chamber members for all the support we have received during 2018. We hope to see you here on Monday!
All Aboard! How about a family Christmas movie night? Join us at the Birdsong Drive-In on Saturday, Dec. 15 at 6 p.m. We will be showing The Polar Express, and the entry fee is only $1 per person. Full concessions will be available, as well as hot chocolate. So grab your favorite blanket, jump in the car, and hop aboard The Polar Express with us. See you then!
