Unless you’re Warren Buffet, Jeff Bezos, or some other billionaire, you could probably use some extra money, and the summer is a great time to earn it. Regardless of your schedule, interests, or skills, there’s a way to make extra money this summer. If you’d like to learn more, check out our list of ideas below.

Sign up for a food delivery service

Food delivery services like Uber Eats, GrubHub, and Doordash have been popular for years, but ever since COVID-19 became a reality, delivery services have exploded. If you’re looking for an easy gig with job security, delivering food might not be a bad option. The best part is that you can make your own schedule and work when you want to.

Be a dog walker

If you’re a dog person, why not consider walking dogs for people? A lot of people are working from home right now, so you may not have as many working adults in need of your services. However, there are a lot of seniors who have dogs but are unable to walk them. Additionally, many seniors and people with compromised immune systems aren’t comfortable going out of the house since they have a higher risk of catching COVID-19. That’s where you come in and save the day. Plus, you’ll be getting paid to play with dogs, so what more could you ask?

Become an online teacher or tutor

If you’d rather channel your inner teacher—or maybe you are a teacher—there’s a huge demand for teaching English online. You could provide lessons for children that are overseas, or you could help kids in your local community. Additionally, if you’re strong in a particular topic, there’s always a demand for tutors, especially in topics like math and science.

Collect metal and scrap it

It may not be the most glamorous job on this list, but you can make great money by selling metal to scrap yards and recycling facilities. Some metals, such as copper, steel, and aluminum, are more valuable than others, so separate your valuable materials to maximize scrap metal profits. You could begin by simply collecting aluminum cans and scrapping those. Alternatively, you could use online marketplaces to find people who simply want the metal gone and are willing to give it away for free if you’re willing to haul it away. That’s free profit, folks! All you have to do is haul the material away. The opportunities are endless, but it’s up to you to decide how much work you want to put into finding the metal.

We know these are hard times for a lot of people, but don’t give up hope. There are plenty of ways to make extra money this summer. These are only a few ideas, but there’s something out there for everyone.
