WALMART GIVES TO PAWS – Camden Walmart Asst. Manager Trevor Hopper presents a check from the Walmart Community Grant Program to Gail Humphrey, CEO of PAWS of Benton County. The grant will assist pets in of Benton County through PAWS’ various programs.

Last week, the Walmart store in Camden awarded a grant of $1,500 to the Proactive Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) of Benton County. PAWS members are extremely grateful for this helpful donation. The Walmart grant will go a long way towards helping pets and pet owners in Benton County.

Each year, Camden Walmart awards local grants to area organization ranging from $250 to $5,000 through the Walmart Community Grant Program. These grants are designed to address the unique needs of communities such as Benton County.

Walmart Corporation believes that strengthening local communities creates value for their business as well as society. That’s why it empowers each Walmart store, Sam’s Club, and Distribution Center to support their communities through local donations, fundraising, and participation in corporate cause-marketing campaigns. In 2021, Walmart stores and Sam’s Clubs provided more than $45 million in local grants.

PAWS is a non-profit established in April of 2022, whose mission is to assist the Benton County Animal Shelter (BCAS) in efforts to help stray and abandoned pets become adoptable and find homes. PAWS hopes to help decrease the number of pets that arrive at BCAS through no fault of their own.

Through programs such as the vaccine clinic held last November, PAWS also helps to assist pet owners who may have difficulty providing for their own pets. More vaccines clinics are planned in the spring, and PAWS hopes to expand their assistance through programs such as spay and neuter, veterinary assistance, and community outreach.
