Last week’s article launched the reader on a brief consideration of an urgent subject. Things get lost! Thanks be to God He has shown to us that people are at the top of His list. Even people get lost? In fact, the Bible teaches that even before our birth we are lost. It would be a sad and frightening circumstance if we had to try to live without the constant hope that God our Maker is seeking to save us.

Last week a lost coin was the focus of the search. Today you will read of a second search. You may think that a lost sheep is not worth searching out in order to save that one lost sheep. As you read, if you have not already trusted Jesus to be your Savior, this would be an excellent time to do so. Just tell the Lord that you are trusting Him for salvation,

“And He spake this parable unto them, saying, What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it? And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost. I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.” Luke 15:3-7.
