To begin this week’s article, I would like to take a moment to send condolences to Dr. Ken and Neisha Berry, all The Berry Clinic staff, their families, and anyone else who was affected by Monday’s fire.

The Berry Clinic has been a Chamber member for several years and a staple business on our court square. The building was historic and beautiful, and I simply cannot imagine the heartache that was felt watching the flames.

Chamber members also extend our sympathies to the other businesses on the square that suffered damage from the fire. Each of you are in our thoughts and prayers.

From all at the Chamber, we appreciate each firefighter and law enforcement officer who was on the scene. Seeing the firemen climb ladders wearing full gear and doing their very best to contain and put out the fire was watching true bravery at its best. Benton County is fortunate to have such dedicated emergency personnel. Thank you for your service!

This past weekend, I attended the Women’s Wellness Event at the Lotus in Bloom (LiBY) Yoga Center and it was such a great event. There were many local businesses and entrepreneurs represented, and a large turnout.

Upcoming Events

On Saturday, March 30, the Benton County Library will host a family movie matinee, beginning at noon. Bring the family for a free screening of Aquaman. For more information, call 731-584-4772.

Also on Saturday is the “Knock out the Knob” night hike at NBF State Park. This ranger-led hike has a participation fee of $5. Meet at Shelter 2 at 8 p.m. for a steep hike to the Pilot Knob Folk Life Center. Once at the top, enjoy a beautiful nighttime view from the highest point along the Tennessee River. The hike is about a mile, but will be challenging due to elevation. Dress for the weather and wear hiking shoes. Bring a small flashlight and a drink. Call 731-584-6356 for more information.
