The TSSAA state playoffs are always an exciting time of the year. Some teams made it while others cleaned out their lockers last week.
Each week from here on out half of the teams will advance to play again in the second round while the other half will end their seasons.
The playoffs give teams an opportunity to play some teams that they do not see during the regular season and they players get s few more practice sessions. Those that make it to the finals get the equivalent to half of a season, with five games.
I encourage folks to get on out to the playoffs each week. The games are inexpensive entertainment, about the equivalent to a movie ticket, only the concessions are quite a bit cheaper and the proceeds go to further the programs of the schools.
Although reserved seating ended at the 10th game, many people will be able to find their regular seats open.
I wish good luck to all the schools involved in the football playoffs and for those that have ended their seasons. There are other sports to look forward to.
