Pickin’ and grinnin’ at the park

Friends and staff of Nathan Bedford Forrest State Park held a “Pickin’ at the Park” event on Saturday. Due to weather, the musical event had to be moved to the Folk Life Museum hours before it got underway.

One of the organizers, Malinda Florence said that the weather most likely played a part in the lower turnout than expected, but everyone that showed enjoyed listening to music of all genres.

Florence said she and all involved look forward to next year’s event and are hopeful that the weather cooperates.
