The City of Camden is pleased to recognize city employee Barry Holland for 25 years of dedicated service. Holland began his employment with the City of Camden in July 1995, and is now a supervisor in the maintenance division of the water and sewer department.

“Thank you for 25 years of outstanding dedication and service to the City of Camden, and your selfless contributions to our community as a volunteer,” said Camden Mayor Roger Pafford. “We value your commitment and professionalism.”

Part of Holland’s duties include initiating and prioritizing maintenance and repair routines in the water distribution system and sewer collection system. As a state certified distribution operator, Holland helps ensure a clean and safe drinking water supply for our community by overseeing the water sampling and analysis program.

Holland has been instrumental in leading a team of maintenance personnel by sharing his vast knowledge of operations and ensuring a safe work place. He also is certified in wastewater treatment plant operations, collection system operations, and cross-connection control.

In addition to his service in the water department, Holland has selflessly served the community as a volunteer firefighter with the City of Camden Fire Department for 29 years. He also is a 29-year lifetime member of the Benton County Rescue Squad, currently serves as Second Lieutenant within the BCRS.

Holland is married to Makisha Holland, and they have two daughters, Kiersten and Paisley. Holland is an accomplished musician, and he, Makisha, her sister Laurie Pierce, and Laurie’s husband Travis Pierce enjoy performing as the gospel group, One Faith. The Holland’s also enjoy camping and spending time with family.
