Benton County’s Got Talent, a real hit at the fair

Singing a song that she wrote in the eighth grade, Caylee Hall, an aspiring artist born in Camden, took home the grand prize of $850 at the first annual Benton County’s Got Talent competition at the fair on Wednesday night.

The 21-year-old Hall competed against 10 other hopefuls on the grandstand stage. At the beginning of the competition, she sang “Tennessee Whiskey,” a country title written by Dean Dillon and Linda Hargrove. Hall’s second number was “To Make You Feel My Love,” written by Bob Dylan.

Hall’s smooth delivery and velvet vocal cords amazed the crowd. She sang all three songs with a bluesy, yet country sound. And it was good.

Rounding out the top three winners, Jimmy Duvall won second and Bobbie Joe Baize came in third. Both took home cash prizes.

Other artists included former Camden Police Officer Lucas Roberson, who has entertained many at local events and via his page on Facebook.
