Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of low-sodium chicken broth
  • 2 cups of water
  • 1 cup of corm grits
  • 4 tbsp. butter, divided
  • 1 cup of shredded cheddar
  • 6 slices of bacon
  • 1 lb. large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tsp. of dried oregano
  • ¼ tsp. of paprika
  • 4 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • ½ of a lemon, juiced

Georgia Peach Pie

Crust Ingredients:

  • 2 ⅔ cups of all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp. of sugar
  • ¾ tsp. of salt
  • 1 stick of cold, unsalted butter
  • ½ cup and 1 tbsp. of cold, solid vegetable shortening
  • ½ cup of ice water

Filling Ingredients:

  • 8 large, ripe peaches (3 ½ pounds)
  • ¾ cup of sugar
  • 1 ½ tbsp. of fresh lemon juice
  • ¼ cup and 1 tbsp. of all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ tbsp. of unsalted butter, thinly sliced
  • Egg wash: 1 egg yolk mixed with 2 tbsp. water

  • ½ lb. of Italian sausage
  • 2 tbsp. of all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups of whole milk
