PETS FOR FAMILIES – There are many eager new family members available for adoption at special reduced rates this holiday season. Consider welcoming a new pet before the New Year!

The holidays can be a lonely time for pets, especially if they don’t have a loving family to call their own. Luckily for Benton Countians, the path to providing a home for a shelter pet is a little easier this holiday season.

The Benton County Animal Shelter (BCAS) currently is offering pet adoptions at a discounted rate, thanks in part to some local supporters. Through help from both PAWS of Benton County and the Humphreys County Humane Society, the shelter is holding a “Clear the Shelter Adoption Special” throughout the entire month of December.

“Our shelter pets all deserve loving homes, and they will show you their appreciation with unconditional love in return. My biggest Christmas wish would be to find a home for every pet at the shelter,” said BCAS Director Duane Turner. “Please spread the word to help these sweet animals find the loving homes they deserve!”

The adoption special includes a reduced $20 adoption fee for most dogs, while cat adoption fees have been reduced to $40. Any pet adopted through this special will be spayed or neutered and up-to-date on its shots.

The Benton County Animal Shelter can be contacted at 731-584-3152, however, most inquiries will get a faster response if you contact them through Facebook messenger.
