Brother Blane Fields takes eighth place

WINNERS – Brothers Seth Fields (left) and Blane Fields took honors in the World Duck Calling Contest in Stuttgart, Ark., recently. Seth took first place and Blane took eighth place, a historical first for brothers to both place in the top 10 of the contest.

Two brothers from Huntingdon showed off their hunting skills in a big way in the recent 87th World Duck Calling Contest in Stuttgart, Ark. Among a field of 52 qualified competitors going head-to-head for the world title, Seth Fields first place, while younger brother Blane Fields placed eighth.

In addition to it being Blane’s first time to compete in the world contest, it was also the first time in the contest’s history that two brothers placed in the top 10 in the same contest.

These Huntingdon brothers were not the first from their town to succeed in the World Duck Calling Contest. In past years, Huntingdon residents Mike McLemore won the championship three times and Steve Barnett once placed in the top five. He won the Tennessee State title twice and the Grand American contest three times.

Seth and Blane were surrounded by their proud family who attended the special event to support them. They included the brothers’ parents Jason and Lisa Fields; Seth’s wife and son, Julie and Jed Fields; and their sister and brother-in-law, Morgan and Joseph Morrissett.
