The American Red Cross of Mid-West Tennessee, all Benton County Fire Departments, and the Benton County EMA office are hosting a “Home Fire Campaign” smoke alarm installation event on Saturday, Dec. 1, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for all citizens of Benton County. The Red Cross wants to Sound the Alarm with free home fire safety and smoke alarm installations.

Anyone in Benton County may register to have free smoke alarms installed. Please note, smoke alarms will not be given away to residents, they are to be installed at no charge by fire department personnel. To request that free smoke alarms be installed in your home at no charge, contact CRC Director Janie Nicholson at the Benton County Resource Center by calling 731-213-2362 or emailing [email protected] to sign up.

The last day to register for the free smoke alarm installation is Monday, Nov. 26. Please help the Red Cross Sound the Alarm and help to improve fire safety in Benton County!
