Traveling can lead us to beautiful sites and exciting places that will amaze us and inspire us to see more. To travel to some of these places, you’ll need to go off-roading. This year, travel to some of these extraordinary off-roading locations in the US.

Azusa Canyon, California

This breathtaking canyon has steep hills and mountains, with plenty of trails to navigate. The mixture of rocky terrain and lush trees with shallow-water areas makes this a beautiful place of nature. Prepare your vehicle for water and gravel, as you’ll most likely drive through both while off-roading .

Mendocino National Forest, California

There are plenty of areas in this forest to go off-roading, given the expansive land. This forest is the only national forest in California that isn’t crossed by a road, making it one of the best places to off-road, since the only way to quickly move across the land is by driving through the forest. The three Ranger Districts—Covelo, Grindstone, and Upper Lake—allow for different experiences with off-roading, including snow in Upper Lake.

Sawtooth National Recreation Area, Idaho

There are multiple trails to travel on in the Sawtooth National Recreation Area. This area has a vast mountain range with beautiful peaks illuminated at sunset, making for a great view while you’re driving through the wide-open grasslands. The forested areas have some hills, but the ground mostly levels out when you’re going down.

Black Hills National Forest, South Dakota

The Black Hills in South Dakota have some of the best natural sights in the US, with Mount Rushmore and the towering spires of the mountain peaks. The national forest surrounding the area has plenty of trails and roads that cross the land and intersect. You’ll mostly see woodland as you off-road, with the occasional stream or patch of open clearing.

Grand Canyon, Arizona

The Grand Canyon is easily one of the most famous natural destinations in the US and one of the best destinations to go off-roading. It’s highly expansive and deep, with plenty of ridges, valleys, and rocky slopes, so you’ll want to prepare your tires for rocky trails so that your suspension is firm. Given how large the canyon is, a map will be of great importance, especially as you navigate through the many ups and downs of the trails.

Since the Grand Canyon has so much rocky terrain, you may run into a possible mishap that requires repairs. Bringing some basic tools for vehicle maintenance and repair, such as a wrench or screwdriver, will help you stay prepared for an incident so that you may continue your off-roading adventure.

There are numerous places across the US to go off-roading. These locations will create great memories for you and your companions as you track the land one trail at a time.
