With this week’s issue, the The Camden Chronicle is launching a new way to read the newspaper. Through our new smartphone app MVP NewsPlayer (available at App Store, coming very soon to Google Play), readers can scan eligible images in our newspaper and load enhanced content, including video, audio, and more. Don’t let us explain the amazing app, explore it for yourself!
Step 1: Download MVP NewsPlayer app from Apple App Store or Google Play (see logo above this article).
Step 2: Look for images and advertisements with the NewsPlayer logo. This tells you that there is more to see.
Step 3: Open the app and hold your smartphone over the image.
Step 4: Press the button on the app to scan the image.
Once the app recognizes the image, the enhanced content will automatically play. Make sure your media sound is turned on so that you can hear the audio.
Remember, only images that show the NewsPlay logo will scan with the app.
The Letters to Santa section included in this issue is teeming with enhanced content, so be sure to check all the graphics for the NewsPlayer logo.
In the coming weeks, we will incorporate more videos into our news coverage to allow for more content engagement. Readers are also encouraged to submit video content along with photos of their events for publication. Great opportunities for video include sporting events, ribbon cuttings, open houses, awards presentations, etc.
This technology also offers businesses a new way to connect with their customers. Video content can be attached to advertisements, as in the following pages, along with direct links to websites, “call now” buttons, and more.
“We are very excited to be able to offer this feature to our readers,” Camden Chronicle Publisher Dennis Richardson said. “We are just scratching the surface of what this new technology allows, and we hope readers and advertisers will engage and make the most of the content we publish.”
