Key region game for both schools at Tommy Richardson Stadium

A short run for a touchdown by Darius Jones was about the only highlight for the Camden Lions in a 49-6 loss on the road to Huntingdon Friday. That score was set up by two key pass completions, of 18 yards to Derek Poole and a 46-yard completion to Mason Howard.

By the time Camden got on the scoreboard the Mustangs had built a 28-0 lead on some quick-strike offensive play.

The Lions (2-2) now regroup and prepare for an important region contest as they host the 1-3 Cheatham County Cubs this Friday.

“This being a region game makes it extra important,” said Camden head coach William Blow.

Huntingdon 49, Camden 6
Huntingdon scored three touchdowns in the first quarter and two more in the second to take a 35-6 lead into halftime.

Camden’s lone touchdown was from Jones for 3 yards set up by the two big pass plays.
The Mustangs wrapped things up when they scored single touchdowns in each the third and fourth quarters.

Huntingdon had 337 yards on the ground and 66 more through the air on 34 carries and one pass completion while Camden ran 35 times for 47 yards and passed for 64 more.

Quinten Wilson completed two of six passes for 64 yards and one pass was intercepted.

Huntingdon attempted only two passes, completing one for 66 yards and a touchdown on a one-play scoring drive in the first quarter.

Jacob Hooten was the leading tackler for Camden with six. Corey Painter had five tackles and Darius Jones four.
