Maxine Hawley, 88, of Camden, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 25, at Camden Healthcare and Rehabilitation. Funeral services were held Sunday, Sept 29, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Oakdale Funeral Home of Camden with Mikie Yates officiating. Burial followed at McRae’s Chapel Cemetery in Big Sandy.

Mrs. Hawley was born March 12, 1931 in Big Sandy, to the late Mackie Brewer and Florence Redden Brewer. She was a retired cook with Camden General Hospital and attended the Church of God of Prophecy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Everett N. Hawley, a brother, Tommy Brewer and a sister Joann Brewer.

She is survived by a son, Jimmy (Doris) Hawley, of Big Sandy; two daughters, Judy (Larry) Melton, and Deborah (Bobby) Pace, both of Camden; two sisters, Louise Clement, and Linda (Larry) Fleming, both of Big Sandy; six grandchildren, Brittany (Brent) Smith, Jamie (Brandi) Hawley, Dana (Richie) Hargis, Jerrod (Melissa) Berry, Dian (Joey) Douglas, and Julie (Jeremy) Thornton; 15 great-grandchildren, Jordan and JJ Hawley, Eden Falkner, Olivia and Isaiah Hargis, Peyton and Avery Mayberry, Shyanne Douglas, Kailyn (Mikie) Yates, Tanner (Brittany) Jackson, Jake, Jarett, and Jolten Thornton, and Mason and Hunter Smith, and two great-great-grandchildren, Tatum Jackson, and Elix Hollingsworth.
