The Camden branch of Regions Bank on S. Forrest Ave. will close on May 21 at 2 p.m., according to a letter the bank mailed to local customers this week.
The letter opened “At Regions, we are continually evaluating our banking network to be sure we invest our resources where customers use them most. As part of this effort, we have decided to combine the Camden Branch with our Waverly Branch.” Click here to see a copy of the full letter.
The letter encourages customers to begin banking at the Waverly branch located at 201 Waverly Plaza in Waverly. The Waverly branch is 19.6 miles and a 24 minute drive from downtown Camden, according to Google Maps.
Customers with safe deposit boxes are asked in the letter to visit the branch by Friday, May 7 with both keys to remove the contents of their box and they can be transferred “to the Waverly Branch or any Regions branch that is convenient.”
The local branch closure is part of a broad action by the bank that includes the closure of several other branches, including the one in Henderson. In 2020, Regions bank closed 37 branches across it’s footprint.
