The Camden Lions football team has this Friday off to regroup before they head into the last three games of the season. The two region games left on the schedule are winnable: Stewart County on the road in Dover and Sycamore at home.
Sandwiched between Stewart County and Sycamore is a trip to undefeated (7-0) Lewis County.
Stewart County is 2-0 in the region with wins over Cheatham County and Sycamore. They are 4-1 overall. Region games they have left include Harpeth, Camden and Fairview.
Sycamore is 0-2 in region play and 0-6 overall.
The Lions are 1-2 in the region and 1-6 overall.

Fairview 35, Camden 8
Fairview scored all the points they needed in the first half and took a 28-0 lead into intermission. They added seven more points in the third quarter to lead 35-0.
Sophomore quarterback Will Dobson connected with Tucker Jackson on a 50-yard touchdown pass for Camden’s lone touchdown in the final quarter. Camden got its only touchdown and two point conversion in the fourth quarter when Jackson ran the ball into the end zone.
Fairview quarterback Riley Bennett put on an offensive show when he completed 10 of 15 passes for 256 yards and three touchdowns, including a 63-yarder.
Camden had 14 first downs to 18 for Fairview.
Fairview out-gained Camden on the ground with 208 yards to 55 and through the air with 272 yards passing to 97 for Camden. Dobson completed nine of 17 passes.
Dobson also led his team in rushing with 36 yards, Kade Lopez added 12, and Jackson 13.
Jackson caught two passes for 58 yards while Ayden Mansfield caught five passes for 29 yards.
Mansfield averaged 41.9 yards on seven punts.
Defensive leaders for the Lions included Samuel Behzad with 12 tackles, Mansfield eight, Trenton Moore six (including three tackles for losses), and Karson Goodwin and Preston Wilson five each.
Outlook: While a region championship is unlikely the Lions are poised for the TSSAA State Playoffs and how they do in their last two region games coupled with successes of other teams in the region, will determine their seed for the playoffs.
In the playoffs Region 6-3A will be paired against Region 5-3A which includes Pearl Cohn, Giles County, Stratford, East Nashville, and Whites Creek.
