Linda Mae Menzies, 66, of Camden, passed away Thursday, Oct. 24, at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Nov. 2, at 1 p.m., in the chapel of Plunk Funeral Home of Camden with Dwayne Menzies officiating. Burial will follow in the Moore Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 11 a.m. to service time at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Menzies was born April 10, 1953, in Benton County, to the late Odie L. Tharpe and Mary Lee Tharpe. She was a member of Williams Grove Baptist Church in Camden and the founder of the gospel group New Heavenly Aires.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Jamison, a brother, Fred Tharpe, a sister-in-law, Mabel Harrison, and two brothers-in-law, Robert Beaty and Orbin Jr. Menzies.

She is survived by her husband, Daniel Menzies; two sons, Dwayne Menzies, of Camden, and Jeremy Menzies, of Houston, Texas; a granddaughter, Tia Menzies, of Camden; six sisters, Phelicia Tharpe, of Jackson, Norma “Pinky” (David) Crittendon, of Mayfield, Ky., Mary L. West and Norene “Bookie” Beaty, both of Middlesboro, Ky., Frances “BB” (Willie) Menzies, of Camden, and Sherry (Kenneth) Mays, of Blytheville, Ark.; two brothers, Gabe “Heater” (Opal) Tharpe, of Greenfield, and Obie (Julie) Tharpe, of Camden; two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Dunlap, of Holladay, and Velma Rice, of Nashville; and several nieces and nephews.
