Benton County junior high basketball teams participated in the Tennessee River Conference Tournament two weeks ago, and each team garnered some degree of success. At the individual level, though, many Benton County junior high age basketball players left the court with honors meant to recognize the skills they displayed throughout the season or during the tournament in particular.

Among the Camden Junior High CJH Lady Lions, Jolee Fields was named to the All-Tournament team, Stella Thornton earned both All-Conference and All-Tournament honors, and Carson Douglas was named to the All-Conference team. On the championship CJH Lions team, Jake Barker and Brady Morris each earned both All-Conference and All-Tournament honors, while Kade Johnson also was named to the All-Tournament team.

Conference coaches selected Holladay Tornadoes players Jayson Glynn to the All-Tournament team and Jayson Tharpe to the All-Conference team. From the Holladay girls’ team, Katelyn Harris earned All-Tournament honors and Brianna Hand earned All-Conference honors.

Several Big Sandy Junior High athletes also earned recognition. Among the BSJH Lady Red Devils, (from left) Briley Weed was tapped for both All-Conference and All-Tournament recognition, Taryn Berry received All-Conference honors, and Molly Belyew received All-Tournament honors. On the BSJH Red Devils team, (not shown) Jagger Allen and Levi Wall were named All-Conference, while Aidan Bullion received All-Tournament honors.

Congratulations to each of these outstanding Benton County junior high basketball players!
