They say great minds think alike, and that was definitely the case with the fall football contest this week. Ranson Goodman, of Springville; Mike Hensley, of Camden; and Lance Wilson, of New Johnsonville; all made 14 correct picks last week. They also all chose 63 points as their tie-break answer, hence the three-way tie. Congrats, guys!

Randy Gilbreth, of Bruceton, also made 14 correct picks. He missed joining in with the tied contestants by logging 59 as his high score guess for the week. The high score among the 16 contest games last week came in the Hollow Rock-Bruceton game at McEwen, where HRB fell hard, 76-12.

The four players with 14 correct picks mostly missed on the same games. Three picked Crockett over Obion, where Obion won 28-14. Two picked Mississippi State over LSU, where LSU earned a surprise win, 31-16. Two picked Auburn over Penn State, but Auburn lost 41-12. Finally, one picked Milan over Haywood, where Milan fell 55-14.

Don’t lose heart if you didn’t win this week, because who will win next week is anyone’s guess. Check out the week six contest on page 2B of this paper. Any cancelled games are counted as correct answers.

Any contestant with the most picks can win the check for $25, so test your skill at choosing 16 winners for next week. Remember to mark an answer for the tie-break question, and be sure to get your completed form to The Chronicle office by Friday at 5 p.m.
