World War II Veteran and Prisoner of War (POW), Ralph Rogers, will be going on the Honor Flight on Tuesday. Rogers, a private in the United States Army, who was drafted when he was 18-years-old, survived German capture of more than three months in 1945. He along with other WWII Veterans will be honored on the flight to Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.
While in Washington, the veterans will visit the WWII, Vietnam and Korea War Memorials.
They will then be escorted to Arlington National Cemetery where they will witness the “Changing of the Guard” at the Tomb of the Unknowns. Veterans will drive by the United States Marine Corps and Air Force Memorials, along with the Pentagon before arriving at Fort Meyer for dinner.
According to the itinerary, the Veterans will then return home on the same day.
