There were 16 games to choose from on the football contest page last week, the first week of the contest for fall 2022. Of those 16 games, contestant Mike Hensley missed five, offering up 11 correct picks. Following Hensley in last week’s contest was contestant Beverly Hicks, who made 10 correct picks.
Hensley undershot the tie-break question, guessing that the most points scored by any contest team last week would be 56. The record high of 62 came in the Union City win over Lake County, where Union City rolled over Lake County with a score of 62-14.
A brand-new contest is inside the sports pages this week, on page 2B. Again, they are all high school games. That’s how it will be until the college schedules begin.
