On Saturday, Oct. 22, a cleanup event is scheduled to be held on Kentucky Lake as part of Keep the Tennessee River Watershed Beautiful month. Living Lands and Waters will bring five 30-foot work boats to cruise Kentucky Lake to help clean the shorelines.

Volunteers are asked to gather at the Town and Country Marina located at 1426 Gardner Rd. in Benton County before 10 a.m. to participate in the cleanup. The event will last from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. To register for the event, visit www.KeepTNRiverBeautiful.org/Kentucky.

The trash collected will be hauled away by Waste Path Services. Land Between the Lakes will take responsibility for recycling any tires collected.

The Saturday cleanup in Benton County will be the fourth in the series, which began at Fort Loudoun Lake on Oct. 1, followed by Chickamauga Lake on Oct. 2, and Pickwick Lake on Oct. 21.

This event is supported by the TVA, Nobody Trashes Tennessee, Keep the Tennessee River Beautiful, Keep America Beautiful, Living Lands and Waters, and ORIS Holstein 1904. For more information, contact Emily Cleaver at [email protected] or 270-350-8103.
