Gordon Hilton Wheatley, 83, of Camden, passed away Thursday, Oct. 10, at Life Care in Bruceton. Funeral services were held Sunday, Oct. 13, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Stockdale-Malin Funeral Home of Big Sandy, with Chad Kennedy and Gerald Scott officiating. Burial followed at Poplar Grove Cemetery in Springville.
Mr. Wheatley was born Feb. 3, 1936, in Big Sandy, to the late Maurice H. Wheatley and Bessie S. Holland. He was a retired funeral director with Stockdale-Malin Funeral Home, a member of the Tennessee Funeral Directors Association, and a charter member of the Benton County Rescue Squad.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Deloris J. Wheatley.
He is survived by his wife, Doris J. Charlton Wheatley; a son, Tony (Jennifer) Wheatley, of Big Sandy; a grandson, Andrew (Alsey) Wheatley, of Big Sandy; a great-grandson, William C. Wheatley; and a sister, Linda (Mike) Stockdale, of Big Sandy.
