God’s Leading

Psalms 23:3, “He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake”. God’s leading of His children is a wonderful subject! Note here: it’s not just to bless and protect us that he leads us, although that’s true, but it’s for His name’s sake. He wants to glorify Himself through us. What a privilege!

How does he guide believers? He uses the word of God. The psalmist prayed, “Order my steps according to thy word”. He uses good counsel from others. He uses the Holy Spirit’s urging. Greatest of all, He uses His own providence. Proverbs 16 says, “A man’s heart deviseth his way, but the Lord directeth his steps”. God guides us even when we don’t realize it! Psalms 32 says, “I will guide thee with mine eye”…”. God said to believers in Psalms 37, “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord”. His paths are always righteous.

He will use our wrong goings to teach us, but He never leads us wrong. He’s never late and never early, but leads us where we need to go when we need to be there. Ruth’s “hap” was to come to Boaz’s field just when gleaners were needed, and Boaz was watching. She ended up being redeemed and married the rich, good, protector and husband. God bless you today as you walk in the guided paths of righteousness.
