For the third week of the fall football contest, there were 16 games to choose from, and Randy Gilbreth of Bruceton picked every single one just right for a perfect score! Following Gilbreth in week three’s contest was contestant Mike Hensley, who each made 14 correct picks.

Gilbreth just overshot the tie-break question – not that he needed it! – guessing that the most points scored by any contest team last week would be 59. The record high of 56 came in two games last week. Fayetteville topped Wayne County, 56-12, while Dresden slayed Perry County, 56-0.

Check out the week four football contest on page 2B of this week’s paper. Remember that some college games are in the mix, too. Any cancelled games are counted as correct answers.

To win that check for $25, try your skills at prediction and choose your 16 winners for next week. Don’t forget to mark an answer for the tie-break question, and be sure to get your completed form to the Chronicle office by Friday at 5 p.m.
