A Bruceton resident is the winner of the weekly football contest and takes home the $25 cash prize as well as bragging rights for the week.

Bradley Reed of 80 Old Bruceton Road tied with Don Caperton of Camden with only one miss each out of the 16 contest games. He wins first place via the high point tiebreaker rule with a guess of 56. Caperton was close at 61. Huntingdon galloped past Perry County 56-6 for the most points any one team scored.

Reed’s only miss was LSU’s upset victory over Georgia. Had Caperton foresaw Tennessee upsetting nationally-ranked Auburn he would have turned in a perfect card and won first place.

Close behind, for honorable mention with two misses each were Mike Hensley and Thomas Reed.

There are plenty of good sponsors on the contest page to spend the winnings so check those out.

The contest game winners in order: Waverly 49-7, Lake County 36-7, Trenton Peabody 55-7, Huntingdon 56-6, Gibson County 33-14, Milan 27-24, Covington 28-27, Greenfield 41-0, Wayne County 36-14, Ravenwood 35-7, Collinwood 47-20, Pearl-Cohn 35-6, Dyersburg 45-31, Florida 37-27, LSU 36-16 and Tennessee 30-24.
