The 15th annual Eva Beach Music and Arts Festival is this Saturday, September 21. The free musical and family friendly event will have food and fun for all ages from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The annual concert will be held at the Eva Beach Day Use Area of Nathan Bedford Forrest State Park in Eva.
This year’s event includes a new genre of music: jazz/blues. “Jamie Cauley of Nashville, contacted me right after last year’s festival and asked to be put on our schedule. He’s a blues/jazz singer who writes most of his own material. Jamie has relatives from Benton County. We are looking forward to having him with us this year,” said Malinda Florence, organizer of the event.
She added, “In addition to Jamie, we’re excited to have Harpeth Run Bluegrass Band also from the Nashville area and a gospel group from Camden, One Faith. We also want to welcome back Gary Morris who will once again emcee the event.”
Other music will include, The Old Spirits, Bill Kee, Dewayne Hollingsworth and his “Rogaine” Boys, Queen City Committee and the band Geezer from Clarksville. Steve French with SRF Productions, will once again provide the sound for the event.
Elvis tribute artist, Riley Jenkins, will highlight the evening’s performances. Florence commented, “Riley is an extremely talented young man. He is an awesome performer and last year’s crowd really got into his music. It’s unreal how much he looks and sounds like young Elvis Presley.”
“If you go away hungry from this year’s festival, it’s nobody’s fault but your own,” Florence smiled. “There will be plenty of hot dogs, hamburgers, BBQ, BBQ bologna, sno cones, funnel cakes, shaved ice and more. We still have room for food, art and crafts booths.
Vendor fees are $25 for food vendors and $10 for arts/crafts vendors. Forms are available on the Eva Beach Music and Arts Festival Facebook page, or by calling Deb Daniel, (731) 584-5535 or Malinda Florence, (731) 676-1548.”
Florence finished with, “This festival is fun for all ages. Sack races will be held in the afternoon for the kids and for all ages the Camden Legends Cruiser Car Club will have a car show. There will also be door prizes given away throughout the day. So, come on out and remember that admission is free and open to the public. Don’t forget to bring your lawn chairs, sunscreen and some friends. We’ll see you at the beach.”
The Eva Beach Music and Arts Festival is sponsored by a grant from the Tennessee River Resort District (TRRD) and hosted by the Friends of Nathan Bedford Forrest State Park.
