Through the years the building on Main St. in Camden has been several eateries, but none as fondly remembered as Nunnery’s-Burger-N-Shake.

Today, that vision is nothing more than crumbled concrete. Wrecking crews started the demolition early on Friday morning.

According to the current owners, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the property will now be used for a multi-purpose area for churchgoers. They have owned the property since 2010.

In 1952, Dairy Queen opened at 232 W. Main St. Later it became Nunnery’s Burger-N-Shake with the hometown support of the Nunnery family.

Read all about the good times at Nunnery’s and how it became only a memory in the next edition of The Camden Chronicle.
