FIRST PLACE – The Camden Lions placed first after defeating four opponents at the Martin Westview Tournament last week.

During the Christmas break, the CHS Lions and Lady Lions had opportunities to play in three tournaments, two for the guys’ and one for the girls’ teams. Both teams showed some hustle on the court.

THIRD PLACE – The Lady Lions placed third after winning two of three games in the Dyersburg Tournament during the holiday break.
ALL-TOURNAMENT – From left, Lions Ayden Melton, Wisdom Laws, and Kaden Story earned All-Tournament honors at the Martin Westview Tournament.

In the Marshall County Hoopfest, despite their best efforts, the Lions were outclassed by their other state opponents and bowed out after three close losses. The Lions went 0-3 against Harrison County, Ky.; Deltona, Fla.; and Marshall County, Ky.

The Lady Lions had better luck at the Dyersburg Tournament. Overall, the Ladies won two of their three games, earning a third-place finish in the event.

At the Martin Westview Tournament, the Lions found their footing and brought the heat. Winning four games and losing none, they defeated Westview, Obion County, Millington, and West Carroll to emerge as tournament champs.

Following their championship run at Martin Westview, three Lions players were tapped for tournament honors. Congratulations to Wizdom Laws, Ayden Melton, and Kaden Story on being selected for the All-Tournament team.
