On Monday, June 3, the CHS Baseball Team held its annual end of season cookout and distributed awards to the individual players who showed a little something extra during the 2019 season. Although this event sadly marked the official the end of the 2019 CHS baseball season, it is always one of the most fun nights of the year for the team as well.

Heath Daniel, Jace Riley, and Matt Blow were named to the District 11AA All-District Team for the 2019 season. Daniel, Riley, and Logan Deaton were named to the District 11AA All-Tournament Team. Daniel also received the Silver Slugger and Golden Glove awards. Riley received the Two-Way Player award as well, and Logan Deaton received the Break-Out Player award.

Evan Sharpe was named CHS Pitcher of the Year. Dalton Story earned the Big Bopper award for hitting the most homeruns. Mason Howard made the best catch of the year for the Lions. Brennan Smith and Max Wardlaw showed the most improvement during the season.

The coaches offered a special “thank you” to recent CHS graduates Matt Blow, Heath Daniel, Jace Riley, and Dalton Story for being great examples to younger players, noting, “By playing hard and never giving up, you leave big shoes to fill for future CHS baseball teams. You guys will be missed, but we look forward to seeing what life has in store for you, and what heights you will achieve!”
