On Monday evening, June 27, 2022, Tucker was found floating face down in his family’s above ground pool. The family called 911 and immediately began performing CPR. Despite the prompt response of the Benton County Sheriff’s Office and EMS personnel, it was simply too late. Tucker could not be revived and was pronounced dead at the Camden ER.

The grand jury returned three indictments against Fritts, who was charged with criminally negligent homicide and two counts of aggravated child endangerment. She was arrested and booked into the Benton County Jail on Tuesday, Feb. 7. Circuit Court Judge Bruce Griffey set Fritts bond at $250,000 dollars.

The indictments read that Fitts was under the influence of multiple controlled substances on the date of her son’s death and left her son unsupervised near the pool. The documents also say the due to her being under the influence, Fritts failed to protect the child and ultimately that lead to the child’s death by drowning. Tucker was the son of Fritts and Nick French. He lived with his mother and two older siblings at the home of his grandmother Karen Hoskins Odom in Big Sandy.
