Athletics Hall of Fame announces new inductees

After a two-year hiatus due to COVID, the Benton County High School Athletics Hall of Fame is finally ready to host its annual banquet and induction ceremony, with a slate of nine athletes as new inductees. The event will be held at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29, at the at Lakeshore United Methodist Camp and Retreat Center in Eva.

This year’s class of inductees includes Stacey Baker, Amanda Brandenburg, Janis Brewer, Mike Bullington, Eddie Dulin, Sid Osment, Rod Sturdivant, Gary Troutt, and the late Brown Hawley. The guest speaker for the 2022 Hall of Fame induction service will be Spencer Riley, former Tennessee Volunteer football player and member of the Vols 1998 National Championship team. 

Tickets to the event are available for $25 through any Hall of Fame board member. Board members include David Markham, Barry Barnett, John Bukky, Betty Jo Douglas, Terry Leonard, Bobby “Flash” Melton, Billy Robins, and John Taylor.
