Learning how to fix the minor damages done to your car is like a rite of passage. These repairs can also be an incredibly useful skill in life, and you must start somewhere. Learn about the easiest car repairs you can do yourself.

Change the Battery

You never know when you might find yourself in a situation when you need to change your car battery. Without a properly functioning and effective battery, your car won’t start. Luckily, one of the easiest car repairs you can do yourself is changing your car battery. All you need to do is loosen the bolts holding the battery in place and replace it with another. A battery change only takes a matter of minutes.

Oil Change

It is recommended you get an oil change done every 3,000 miles. The good news is you can do this from the comfort of your home, too. The only price this repair will cost you is for the oil, which can double if you get it done by a mechanic. The process requires you to simply remove the old oil by unscrewing the oil drain plug. Then, you pour a new bottle of oil into the filter.

Scratch Repair

There are so many ways your car’s nice paint job can get ruined with a scratch. With a paint touch up kit, however, you can fix it like a pro quickly. All you need to complete this repair is a touch up kit, which provides you with the correct items to make the blemish disappear.

Replace the Lights

Your lights not working properly can result in an easy ticket. To replace them, find the bulb holder, remove the wires, and install a new bulb. It can be a little different for tail lights, but this can all be done in your home and usually only takes an hour or so.

Replace the Windshield Wipers

Windshield wipers are a great place to start if you want to repair and replace parts of your car on your own. To remove the wipers, all you need to do is lift the wiper away. As you do this, make sure you don’t let the wiper hit the windshield, as it could crack the glass. Some windshield wipers require you to lift it through a clip, while others might just slide right off by rotating it. Regardless of how you do it, this repair is still simple and only takes you a few minutes.
