Who doesn’t love a good side gig? Who doesn’t love making money without leaving their home? If you have a large property, you can do both. There are a lot of ways to use your land, many of which can help you earn an income. From renting your space to raising livestock to creating something special for your entire community to enjoy, here are three ways to make an income off your land.

Rent Out Storage Space

Someone might need indoor or outdoor storage space for any number of reasons, which means people might be willing to pay you to keep their stuff on your land. You can offer up your property as a space for people to safely park their boats or RVs during the off-season. If you have a shed or other separate building, you can also rent it out as an indoor storage unit for anyone who is moving or downsizing or who otherwise needs to store clutter.

Start an Apiary

Growing crops or raising livestock are great ways to make an income off your land. If you don’t know where to start, consider trying your hand at beekeeping. Fresh honey is a huge perk of owning an apiary, but there are many other ways to make money from beekeeping. Plus, once you set up a colony and a hive, honeybees are surprisingly self-sufficient, protecting their own hive and gathering plenty of food from their natural environment.

Rent for Outdoor Activities

Depending on where your land is located and what sort of natural environment exists there, you can use it for a wide range of outdoor activities. You can set up a shooting range for local enthusiasts to visit. You might also rent it as a hunting ground during prime seasons. Alternatively, if your space holds some natural beauty, it could be a great place to set up a campground for vacationers. Make the most of the woods, wildlife, and other natural resources that exist on your land.
